ABOUT LOBSTER SEASON IN FLORIDA

We’re excited to embark on our journey on August 2nd and can’t wait to get started. Please follow all FWC rules and regulations for the Florida Keys.
If you’re preparing to join the recreational spiny lobster sport season on July 24 and 25, followed by the regular season starting August 6 through March 31, 2025, we encourage you to have a fun, successful, and safe experience on the water.
It’s important to adhere to harvest regulations: lobsters must have a minimum carapace length of 3 inches (measured in water) for harvesting. In Monroe County and Biscayne National Park, harvesters are allowed six lobsters per day; elsewhere in state waters, the limit is twelve per day. For detailed information on bag limits, size limits, harvesting locations, and other regulations, visit MyFWC.com/Marine. Click on “Recreational Regulations” and then “Lobster” under the “Crabs, Lobster and other Shellfish” tab for more details.
If you’re planning to lobster in the Keys area specifically, check out additional resources at KeysLobsterSeason.com provided by the Monroe County Tourist Development Council. Remember to obtain your recreational saltwater fishing license and spiny lobster permit at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com before heading out.
Tight lines,
